Engine Controls

So, just as you are arriving at the fuel dock (or any other area that requires precise maneuvering) you don't expect the engine shifter controls to malfunction! That's what happened to me today. Luckily, it worked in a bit of a degraded mode, but I made it to the dock safely. Upon further review I found one loose and one missing bolt that was supposed to hold the gear shift lever assembly place. After disassembling, I had to go to the hardware store to replace the missing fastener. With it reinstalled and reassembled, it should provide many hours of worry-free operation. In the future, I'd like to swap the position of the throttle and gear shifter handles. With the throttle on the port side, it's been inadvertently bumped by an elbow or arm. I think its customary to have the throttle on the starboard (or inboard) side of the control quadrant anyway. Another day perhaps...
