Well charged and maintained batteries on a boat this size are a necessity.
In 1979, the Mainship company outfitted this boat with a Crown brand "Automatic
Marine Converter". The boat also had 3-banks of batteries (main engine start,
genset start, and house battery banks). So, out with the old and in with the new.
Removal was fairly straightforward, but accessing one of the mounting fasteners
was difficult due to existing access. Once removed, the remaing area provided
ample space for the new charger. The ProSportHD 20 Plus Three Bank Battery

In this particular installation, the charger needed to be installed upside-down so the leads would reach all three battery banks appropriately. With the new charger installed, I have much more confidence in the batteries and their ability to serve their purpose and fulfill the needs of the boat..
